ARGY, WILTSE & ROBINSON NAMED ONE OF FASTEST-GROWING ACCOUNTING FIRMS IN NATION
McLean, Va. — November 3, 2006 — Argy, Wiltse & Robinson, P.C. (AWR), a leading Northern Virginia-based certified public accounting and business advisory firm, announced today that it has been named one of the fastest-growing accounting firms in the nation by Public Accounting Report. Posting revenue growth of nearly 24 percent over last year, AWR was ranked the nation’s 34th fastest-growing accounting firm. Public Accounting Report, the oldest and most widely circulated independent newsletter of the public accounting profession, ranks firms nationwide based on year-to-year growth in fiscal net revenues. In August 2006, the publication also ranked AWR the 95th largest firm in the nation for overall revenues, number 59 for tax revenues and number 76 for management consulting services revenues.
AWR, which has doubled in size over the past three years, is outpacing both Big 4 firms and its regional competitors in terms of growth. Now in its 15th year of business, the company is the second fastest-growing CPA firm in the Washington metro region. AWR President and CEO Paul Argy noted that the firm has maintained an aggressive yet controlled growth strategy.
“We took deliberate steps in 2005 to slow our growth to ensure that we would expand in an extremely controlled manner,” said Argy. “To that end, we’ve been highly selective about the new clients we accept.”
Argy added that AWR’s growth has been fueled by companies that have outgrown their small local CPA firms or companies that left national firms because they were dissatisfied with cost or service. AWR is also seeing an increasing number of new clients from the government contracting sector that are turning to the firm for its regulatory tax expertise.
