The seventh annual RF/Microwave Power Amplifier (PA) Forum, part of the global AWR Design Forum (ADF) event, took place last year mid-week during the European Microwave Conference (EuMW) in Paris.
Scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. in the nearby Mercure hotel, just a few hundred meters from the convention center, the agenda was stellar and the pre-registered attendee numbers were good. This meant that expectations were high that the hard work and planning of myself as well as colleague Malcolm Edwards and Dr. Dominic FitzPatrick would pay off.
Yet as the minutes ticked by and the 10:00 hour was approaching, the room was not yet filling to capacity, as the norm from the prior six years. I knew that something was not quite right. Making a long story short, I realized our attendees were literally “Lost in Paris.” Who could have imagined that there were three Mercure hotels within the vicinity of the conference center and depending upon which door you’d exit from the convention center, a short walk would find you at any one of them?
Fortunately, I was able to quickly email the attendees with more detailed “walking” instructions, as well as send AWR colleagues out into the area to chaperone any and all as needed. The event, thankfully, ended much better than it started. Our “Lost in Paris” attendees persevered and made it to ADF (perhaps a little later than planned).
Luckily for you, however, there is no need now to find yourself “Lost in Paris.” The url www.awr.com/adf will take you to the “best of” ADF 2019 collection of content that includes excellent presentations captured at the PA Forum in Paris, as well as from partner companies and customers from one of many ADF events held globally last year.
So sit back, relax, grab a beverage of your choice, and enjoy these “best of” talks from ADF. The collection is organized into five tracks addressing various aspects of circuit and communications/radar system design, and highlights presentations from industry experts Dr. Steve Cripps, Cardiff University, Dr. Zoya Popovic, University of Colorado, Dan Swanson, DGS Associates and Dr. Dominic FitzPatrick, Ametek-CTS, as well as prominent companies such as, Wolfspeed, Arralis, UMS, AMCAD, OMMIC, and Focus Microwaves. It also includes design examples from AWR software professional on topics that cover MMIC PA, Doherty PA, best practices in EM simulation and RF link system design to name a few.
I hope you enjoy, and I look forward to seeing you again one day soon.
A votre santé,
