This webinar describes the design of an 800 W amplifier using the nonlinear simulation capabilities in NI AWR Design Environment, specifically Microwave Office, and the large signal model of the Wolfspeed CGHV14800F. Topics covered include the differences between GaN and LDMOS or Si bipolar solutions, stability and biasing (class tradeoffs and implications) using measured matching circuits, hunting down component resonances, device dissipation simulation and test results and tuning. The manufactured stage is compared with the simulated performance.
